What is the UETR reference?

The Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR) is generated once a payment is made through the SWIFT network. Its purpose is to allow for comprehensive and transparent tracking of payments.

What are the benefits of UETR?

The UETR has been added to your payment details on Ebury Online.

In order to locate the UETR on EBO:

  1. From the main Dashboard, go to Payments.

  2. Search for the payment by clicking on “Filter”

  3. Click on the payment identification number (“PIXXXXXX”) and the payment details will appear to the right

  4. The UETR number will be visible towards the bottom

You can also see these details on the payment confirmation receipt we share via email.

If your beneficiary wants to know the payment status, you can share UETR with them. They can then track the payment themselves by providing it to their bank. This approach will significantly reduce response times and increase transparency.

The UETR adheres to an international standard regulated by SWIFT and is recognized worldwide by banks participating in the SWIFT network. Therefore, this reference can also serve as proof of payment for your beneficiary.
