Troubleshooting: I Haven’t Received My 2FA SMS Code

Written by Loubaba Rais

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a vital layer of security for your Ebury Online account. If you aren't receiving your SMS code, it’s usually due to a local connection or device setting issue.

Before reaching out for support, please run through these quick checks to get back online:

Quick Device Checks

  • Check Your Signal: Ensure you are in an area with strong signal strength.

  • Connection Refresh: Restart your device to refresh your connection with your network provider.

  • Updates: Verify that your device has the latest software or firmware updates applied.

  • Time Synchronisation: If you are traveling abroad, make sure your device time syncs with the local time.

Messaging & Settings

  • Do Not Disturb: Check if "Do Not Disturb" mode is active or if you have any blocked numbers that might interfere with incoming codes.

  • Service Test: Confirm if you are able to receive standard SMS messages from friends or other services.

Request Limits

If you have clicked "Not receiving SMS" several times in a row while instructing a payment, the system may temporarily throttle requests. In this case, please wait a short while before attempting to send a new request.
