EBICS (Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard) is a communication standard used for transmitting payments and corporate financial information between corporates and banks over the internet. In simple terms, with EBICS, you can make payments securely from your ERP. Every bank in Germany is mandated to host an EBICS server.

Benefits of using EBICS with Ebury

Ebury now offers EBICS 3.0 to its customers in Germany. Over EBICS, we can receive payment instructions from your platform of choice and send end-of-day statements to it.

  1. Enhanced security: Send payment instructions with confidence through encryption.

  2. Streamlined operations: Optimise your operations by leveraging your existing EBICS setup to send payment instructions to Ebury and receive EoD statements from Ebury.

  3. Cost-free integration: Send and receive from Ebury directly from your existing ERP via EBICS at no additional cost.

How does it work

  • Start with connecting your TMS/ERP with Ebury via a standardised interface.

  • Log in to your TMS/ERP and submit your payment instructions/orders via an encrypted channel using standardised file format.

  • Once you submit it, you will receive up to 3 notifications of acknowledgement (ACK) or failure (NACK) with error messages.

  • You can even retrieve EoD statements (in MT940 or camt.053 formats).

Which communication formats are supported?

  • ISO20022 standard PAIN001 to send Ebury your payment instructions

  • Receive from Ebury EoD statements either as SWIFT standard MT940 or ISO20022 standard CAMT053.

How to get access to EBICS

If you are already an Ebury client in Germany, speak to your dedicated relationship manager to learn more about it and the steps to subscribe to it. Here is a typical process for subscribing to EBICS with Ebury.

  • Request and complete EBICS documentation, such as signing up form, RDT, and supplement to T&Cs.

  • Get onboarded to EBICS. Here, we set up your account and authorised contacts, exchange public keys and more.

  • The next step includes the initial technical setup, which involves tests and gauging product readiness.

  • Make the first live transaction with EBICS.
